TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE

APPROX TIMES:  (time varies by location)

START: 11:00am

MAXIMUM: 12:30pm

END: 2:00pm

Monday, April 8, 2024 the Moon will fully block the Sun along a path from northwest Mexico, thru central Texas, then toward New England.

The Sun is fully covered by the Moon during a Total Eclipse!  Don't miss it!

SOLAR GLASSES ARE REQUIRED WHEN THE ECLISPE IS NOT FULL!

When the moon fully covers the sun solar glasses are no longer required.

SOLAR GLASSES  WARNING!

NEVER USE SOLAR GLASSES WITH BINOCULARS OR TELESCOPES!  The solar film will melt instantly causing permanent eye damage.

(Remember burning paper with a magnify glass as a kid?  The same thing can happen to the film and your eyes!)

U.S. MAP

Mexico  >  USA  >  Canada

Viewers inside the center band — the path of totality — will experience totality for about 4 minutes & 30 seconds. Viewers outside the path of totality will see the crescent sun of a partial solar eclipse.

The map below shows the path of the eclipse, and the approximate local time when the eclipse will be at maximum.
